HOOPERS TASTER WORKSHOP
A workshop to come and have a go at Hoopers, this most fun and popular dog activity! If you find that you are then bitten by the Hoopers bug, you are welcome to enrol in the longer weekly Hoopers course, to build on yours and your dog's skills.
Unlike agility, there is no high impact jumping etc.
We teach the dogs to:run through hoops set at ground-level, run through tunnels, navigate around barrels and eventually complete an easy, flowing course combining all those elements.
It's a fun, bond-strengthening activity to do with your dog and the idea is that you may also be able to distance-control your dog to guide them around the course, so you won't need to run about! You can even continue at home in the garden, as it's easy to learn and equipment isn't too expensive.
**Although Hoopers is a lovely inclusive activity i.e. anybody and any dog, big or small, can do it, please ensure your dog is 6 months of age and over, to avoid over-exertion of very young pups**

SPECIAL WORKSHOP - FOR DOGS UNABLE TO BE LET OFF-LEAD
This workshop is for dogs who cannot be let off the lead, for whatever reason e.g.
Dogs with unreliable, or absolutely zero recall
Dogs who are 'too sociable' / boisterous around other dogs / people
Elderly, or recovering from surgery and limited to lead-only walks
Newly-acquired dog and unsure of recall reliability
Dog regularly runs off and scavenges through rubbish, raids bins & picnics etc.
Dogs with high chase and / or scenting drive
Owner is too anxious to let dog off lead
Usual walking routes are too unsafe / distracting for dog
Dogs who have had bad experience with other dogs - nervous, been jumped on / chased etc.
Dogs who are not friendly with other dogs / people - **please see note below
This workshop will teach you how to make your walks fun and interesting for your on-lead dog - games, activities, training, mental stimulation to compensate for not being able to run off-lead. You will also strengthen the bond between you and help safely channel and meet your dog's behavioural needs. There will also be no more reason to feel, or be made to feel guilty / embarrassed that your dog is kept on-lead, when it seems that most others are not. On-lead dogs can have just as satisfying a walkies-time, as those who get to run off-lead.
Limited places - (dogs must be friendly with other dogs / people).
**Please note, dogs who are reactive / aggressive towards other dogs or people, may not attend - for obvious reasons* (however their owners are welcome to attend, as spectators, to learn new skills).
