SCENTWORK FOR FUN WORKSHOP - *new dates to be confirmed*
A fun workshop, (1.5 hours long), showing how you can engage your dog's natural ability to use their nose.
You will learn lots of ideas to keep your dog busy & provide appropriate outlets to channel that amazing skill they have. For those of us who have dogs with an extra-strong scenting drive, this is ideal to harness that skill & create a lovely team-building exercise between you & your dog. Perfect for mental stimulation for all dogs, plus useful for training frustration tolerance & for tiring out extra-busy dogs, or an alternative way to entertain dogs who are on limited exercise, for whatever reason.
Activities include:
- learning how dogs hone in on scent
- basic handling skills during a search
- searching for food / toys
- encouraging an active indication
- making use of household objects,
- vehicle search,
- search for a human!
LEADWALKING & FOCUS WORKSHOP - *new dates to be confirmed*
• Does your dog pull on the lead?
• Take you for a walk?
• Does chaos ensue as soon as the lead goes on & you exit the house?
• Are walks with your dog becoming a stressful event, rather than the calm, mutually enjoyable experience they ought to be?
• Are you worried that you are unable to ‘hold’ your dog and their strength is jeopardising the safety of you & him/her?
**Please note, this workshop is NOT for dogs who are aggressive / nervous / reactive to other dogs, or people - please ask me for 1-2-1 individual behaviour sessions instead**
Then please join me for a workshop to help with all of these common issues. The workshop will be for 1.5 hours and we will work outside and then put the training tips you have learned, into practice right away, on a little walk out from the workshop venue.
We are not aiming for show-ring type walking, just on improving your everyday walking so that you can enjoy going out with your dogs. Whatever breed traits your dog has, or motivations they may (or may not) have, we will factor these in and work on ways to help you and your dog work WITH one another, instead of against each other. Reward-based methods only of course!
*Only 5 places available.
*If you miss out on a place, I am happy to schedule more workshops on Monday 8th, or Monday 15th August.
Hope you can come! 😊
